Help adults gain practice speaking English by leading them in a small group discussion. You do not need special training to volunteer for a conversation group. Your own English fluency, with pronunciation that is (or sounds) native, will allow others to learn by listening and practicing. English practice groups meet once a week, usually for an hour.
To volunteer, complete the English Practice Volunteer Registration Form and return it to our office by email, mail, or fax. Volunteers must apply and receive confirmation before joining a group, and should be available to assist with most meetings in a series (8-10 weeks) or as arranged with the group organizer. This is not an ESOL course, and is not suitable for people needing to observe or provide instruction. Dates and locations for Conversation Corners can be found on the calendar of events.
