Any adult (18 years or older) with a high school diploma or GED certificate and transportation can become a volunteer. Conversation corner organizers must attend tutor training.
What do Conversation Corner volunteers do?
Conversation Corner groups meet once a week and are offered at select branches a few times each year. Each group has one volunteer organizer who is in charge and a few volunteers who lead discussions with small groups of English language learners. Conversation Corner volunteers do not need to speak their students’ native languages.

We are currently full and not recruiting volunteers for our Conversation Corner groups at this time. Please consider becoming a tutor as we have a long waiting list of students.
